Most of the talk going on about education today is negative. Pundits, politicians, talk show hosts, and just about anyone else they put in front of a camera is more than willing to point out every problem that currently exists in education. This general atmosphere of pessimism has started to make it difficult for students and teachers to see the positive in what we do. Here is a wall I have created for students, teachers, parents, and community members to post good things that are happening at PCHS.
www.wallwisher.com/wall/pchsrocks
Teachers- Post about students who are achieving great things in your class or even non-academic things that make you proud of your students.
Students- Post about what you have learned here or about a teacher who has made an impact on your life.
Parents- Post about positive interactions you or your child have had with school personel.
Community Members- Post about ways you have seen our students contributing to the community.
These are just suggestions to get you started. Feel free to write about anything the world should know about what we are doing here.
Mrs. Mcfatridge has impacted my life in a slight way,she alwayshas a positive and fun atmoshpere in her classroom&she is also very nice to me. I have to say her class is my favorite.(no offense Mr. O!)

Many of my teachers have impacted my lives in different way, depending on what they do. For example, you in my creative writing class has showed me that in order get the grade you want, you have to work. Anothes is Mrs. Propst as she teaches that not all of those fake babies are as cute as everyone says. Every class I've had this semester has been a different experience, but every teacher has been great at doing what they do!

My teachers have an impact on my life in different ways. They make me think differently in their classes than I normally would. I have to expand my mind and try harder to improve myself.

I think that each teacher I have had while being a student at PCHS has taught me at least one thing that I will carry on with me forever. For example, Mr. Ogle as God will never leave my memory. That was an interesting lecture! Neither will your spelling issues as an English teacher(wondrous just isn't meant to be spelled right I agree) :) Another thing, Mrs. Wells having the thought that her husband looks like Leonardo Dicaprio, was priceless. But even with these funny events that have occurred. I have learned things that really opened my mind about how life is going to be after highschool.

Mr. Ogle I think this a clever idea it shows a lot of positive thoughts and this is great for everyone!!!!!:)))
ReplyDeleteA teacher who has impacted me is Mr. Terell who taught at Crestwood. I had really never studied until I had him. He made me love history more because he made it interesting for me. Most students in the same grade as I agree.
ReplyDeleteA lot of teachers have impacted my life. A few teachers have been hard on me, harder than others. But, I personally think that being hard on students makes them focus more & keep there grades up.

honestly the best thing at our high school is probably the teachers. Every morning i wake and dread going to school but the i realize that i will be seeing our teachers. This brightens my day and its not as hard on me when i am there. S. Mason
ReplyDeleteI have learned that it is better to go to collede to do what you want in life.So you can be happy, even if it does not pay allot! Also I have learned it is better to keep a positive attitude about things and just get stuff done.

i believe that Mr. ogle has impacted me greatly, when i had first arrived at paris high school i "hated" english. When Mr. Ogle started teaching he didnt have the same mood as my perievous english teachers. Mr. Ogle's mood was more excitment and to have fun and learn. This has helped me in other classes as well, so i would like to thank Mr. Ogle for all the hard word andd determanation he has put forth in all his students.

Mrs. Block for sure... shes my favorite teacher and we get along great and she usually helps me with all my work and when i need help shes right there to helpp.. Mrs. Blocks my girl!

Mrs. Block has impacted me greatly. I thought chemistry would be a horribly difficult class, but I love it. Mrs. Block makes the class very enjoyable, even though we receive lots, and lots, and lots of worksheets, homework, quizzes, etc. All in all, Mrs. Block has shown me that even difficult classes can be made fun.

Mrs. Block has made the most impact on me. She understand greatly that everyone learns differently, and she gives you a couple extra days on homework if you don't understand it, so you can come in and ask questions about it, and she will help you no matter what. Even though her class can be a little difficult, she understands that you can't get everything done because we have other classes that give us homework.

Mrs. Block would have to be the teacher for me. She is fun and there is never a dull moment with her. She gives of a very homelike feeling in her classroom where it feels like you can let your guard down and it makes it that much easier to learn in her classroom.
ReplyDeleteI think that all the teachers at each school have changed the impact in my life. There always there when you need them. There certain teachers that are there for you when you need them for other reasons then school things. As i came to high school these teachers made me take everything really different in my classes.

DeleteNot trying to be a teachers pet but you really have helped me kind of see things different in our school. Ive tried to fix things or say something to make them better but I don't think it ever works. I think your idea was a great one.

what i learned at PCHS is not to let other people judge you for who you are be your own person and dont let people put you down. and for the teacher that impacted my life would probably have to be Mr.Barnes he taught me ways to get around a math problem if i was stuck
ReplyDeleteSince I been at PCHS I learned that don't let another persons opionion about yourself bring you down about everything you have done. Be yourself and you will be okay. One thing I have written down is "I am me... And I am okay."
ReplyDeleteI have a couple teachers that impacted my life. One is Mrs.Glick, because she has taught me how to handle math better and that nothing isnt possible if you set your head to it.Then Mr. Ogle is my other teacher that impacted my life.At first I really didn't like english when I first came to high school but when I got into his class I found it more enjoyable. He gets to the point of things and always tell you that if you can't do the work now how can you do the work when your off on your own.

A lot of the teachers at the high school are great at what they do and love teaching kids in the class. But there are just a few of them that actually take the time and tell you and go out of their way to show you that they care about you. Some of those teachers for me are: Mrs. Howard, she always has a smile on her face. She is very loving and no matter what problem, as little as getting your pencil sharpened to fixing the world's problems, she makes it seem like she can fix it. It never seems to be a problem, either. She is very bubbly and is always interacting and making her class fun for her students. Another teacher I really like is Mr. Dundas, he is very funny and is always cracking a joke. He makes his class very enjoyable, considering he teaches history. I also like Mr. Ogle, because he tells how it is and how he wants you to do things. He always listens to your stories and always has a story to tell back to you. He makes his class feel welcome at all hours of the school day and before and after school and he always tells us if we ever need anything he is always there. These are what I like about these certain teachers.

the biggest thing that i think i have learned here at PCHS is that you have to work hard to be sucessful. i have seen kids that dont work hard and fail and i see kids that work hard and succeed.
