I would like to start this blog off with a quote that I believe is always relevent, but which seems even more important at the beginning of a new endeavor, like a new school year. This quote has become my all-time favorite and will probably be finding a home on a wall in class in the very near future.

I love this quote because it reminds me that we are able to achieve so much more than we give ourselves credit for. We constantly let doubts and fears stand in our way, when we should be looking for opportunities to push our limits.
We are embarking on this journey together, and I invite all of you to join me in my task to live a life of astonishment by doing all we are capable of each and every day.

you know whats crazy we can do anything if we really want to do it. like people in like pro sports how do you think they got there they worked really hard and acheived what they wanted and therefore got what they wanted in life. and if you put your mind to it then you can do anything and i mean anything so figure out what you want to do with your life and do it dont be a baby and make up excuses b/c everybodies got one so do what you do and do it
ReplyDeleteI like that quote also. It's true that if you put you mind to whatever your wanting to do, you are most likely going to accomplish it. Many people think they are incapable of becoming successful, but in all reality if they would just put their minds to it, they would be able to do it.
ReplyDeleteI do believe that every person is capable of doing better than they have, but the real question is, are they willing to push themselves harder to do what they are capable of? That is what our problem is today, that we aren't willing to take an extra step or spend an extra hour to get a better result. We tend to do what is required and not what is better. We should all start pushing ourselves a bit harder and start taking that jump to betterness so we acheive greater results.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Desiree that every person is capable of doing better, but the question is are they willing to push themselves. Many people are lazy and don't try as hard as they can because they know they don't have to. They know they can get by without overworking themselves. Some people don't believe in themselves, even though they should. People need to start believing they can do things, and try to accomplish as mcuh as they possibly can. It would make a huge difference in the world today if everyone would just try to do what is right instead of doing nothing but get by. Although sometimes people do try there hardest and are let down. This could cause them to give up but hopefully they won't.

ReplyDeleteYeah Thomas Edison was a genius and his quotes are immortal... blah blah blah. At this point in my life I am confused, and busy. Am I not doing all I am capable of doing? Do I not push myself? Am I lazy? Actually,I am doing a lot of things and it's taxing and I get behind in some things. I do not "literally astonish" myself. I make myself tired. I guess I don't really disagree with the quote, I just think there's better.

Hey Mr. Ogle I agree with this quote 100% of the way. Its like saying what we want to do we can do it. Not everyone believes that but if you put effort on trying something then more than likely you will succeed. I see why you like this quote now.
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone 100 percent. im not gunna lie i dont push myself as hard as i can in school. now sports is a different story. i want to play basketball in college but without the good grades and leadership i wont be doing that. so i have decided that i have to step it up in the classroom and on the field track or court!.. if people look up to me they will say hey shes trying to work hard in the classroom to get what she wants you know? so i think people should always push theirselves more than they really want to!

ReplyDeleteThis beginning of the school year was a scary but yet exciting one. You here all the rumors for freshmans, you wonder if you will find all your classes on time, you wonder if it will be harder than junior high, and you also think this is the time I need to decide what I want to do in my life.
Being a freshman is exciting cause you get to take drivers ed, if you are old enough, get to meet new people from other schools than the one you went to.
So even though you begin in a new school, new kids, harder classes, you just realize you only have 3 more years of school, unless you decide on college, or if you choose to go on to work. Either way your freshman year starts off new and scary yet exciting then within weeks its like you've been there for awhile.
That quote is veary true in many way, and many people do stop and don't push themselfs when they can or when the opertunity comes they let it pass or they do not answer the door when it knocking.
ReplyDeleteThis quote is very true. It may sound cheesy but it is very true. For example, there was a major baseball player named Jim Abbott. All his life he wanted to be a pro ball player. There was only one problem. He only had one hand. No matter what other people told him, he had is heart set of what he wanted to do. So a few years later, he had his dream come true of playing pro baseball player. A good one at that. But overall, anyone can do anything if they really want to.
