Labor Day Weekend

Vacation used to be a luxury, but in today's world it has become a necessity. ~Author Unknown

I know that a three day weekend is hardly a real vacation, but I think we tend to hit the first days of school with such force that we very quickly wear ourselves out. Hopefully, we have all made it through these first two weeks in one piece and have come to a fairly clear understanding of what lies ahead.

By now you should all know where your classes are, what you will be expected to do in each one, and I'm sure you have sized up all of your teachers. I would encourage all of you to take the time over this weekend to not only relax and regroup, but to also reflect on the past two weeks. What have you learned that can help you be successful this year? What resolutions can you return to school with on Tuesday that will help you reach your fullest potential?

For my part, I intend to use this time to reevaluate my plans for the semester and make sure that I am ready for the big push to Thanksgiving. That's right; I said Thanksgiving. By my understanding, we don't have many three-day weekends this semester, so this is a rare opportunity for us to have an extra day of rest to charge our batteries and refocus our efforts.

I hope to see you all well rested and ready to go on Tuesday. Take a deep breath while you can, because we have a lot of work to do.

  3. so i think we should have more than like a two day weekend most of the time because there are times when some of us just don't have enough time to do all the work for school. ok with that girl she has two jobs i know how she feels because i am trying to manage school dance and work and it is the hardest thing in my life right now. i just wish we had longer weekends so we could get caught up. and with all this stuff i am doing i have to keep my grades up if i get below a c i have to quit everything and just focus on school and i really like to dance so i focus really hard in school. i just try the hardest i can at everything i have so i just keep doing it and i keep my grades up. all this i am talking about i am relating to having more than two day weekends at least three day weekends so we could all get recuperated(i dont know how to spell that) and we could all go to school in good moods.

  4. Mr. Ogle,
As a student, we look forward to any three day weekends or any days off during the week. We see these as extra days of no learning, or sitting in class rooms. Time to enjoy with family and our friends.
Anytime away from school is better than no time at all.
We feel this way about school but deep down we know that we need school so we can become better people outside of school. If it wasn't for going to school where would we all be, no job, no money, and we all know in this time and day jobs are hard to come by and the more schooling we can get the better chance we will have in the future to make something of ourselves.
So no matter how much we don't like school, we need to look at our future for after school. We can then become better people.

  5. I agree that a vacation used to be a luxury, but has become a necessity because noone is ever ready for anything no matter how prepard they are.
